What If . . .

What if the world could be at peace through music and dance? What if all the people on this planet could sing and swing together, regardless of talent because talent doesn't matter? Is it worth ten minutes of your life to watch these videos and think about it? Or at least dream about it?

I've always thought that the governance of great nations should be choreographed by Busby Berkley.

Music shall unite us yet!

(Well, it is my job!)

Don't you lads have anything better to do at 4 a.m.?

KEVIN: And orchestrated by Spike Jones.

MAPSTEW: Yes, and since Spike Jones is long dead, you can be the music conductor.

And welcome to my tiny piece of the Innertubes.

Just in from a gig. Now it's 5.20, so better be getting to the feathers before the rest of the brood arise!

Well as the powers that be appear to be tone deaf and have two left feet perhaps it is time to change the record and start dancing to a different beat.

All this creativity from a country that continues to run Lawrence Welk reruns on Public TV. I am completely unable to reconcile the contradiction.

If we could just build on that spirit. I kept hoping there would be a Brit?

Music... and drink will unite us, but just not at my place at the bar.

It is rather interesting for me to read the blog. Thanks for it. I like such themes and everything that is connected to them. I definitely want to read a bit more on that blog soon.

MAP: So what is your band's genre? Chieftains, Enya, Stones, Herman's Hermits, Alice Cooper . . .

ST JUDE: Well said. That is something to dream about.

ROBERT: I think Lawrence Welk, and Mitch Miller, are big with the geriatric crowd. I also think a lot of those folks still sing and dance, if only in their minds.

PAT: Wouldn't that be great? There is a shot from London in the dance video.

JIMMY: Got it. The world will all come together, except at your bar stool.

ANON: Thank you, and you are welcome here.

If only we could let go to that point, it would be nice and for sure a much nicer place. Thank you for that.

Charlie, we are a 'working' band, playing different genres to different audiences. It is how we make our living. Very versatile we is! More interpreters than creators at this point in time, but times change! :¬)

I've seen this 'Stand by Me' video over and over. It always brings tears to my eyes. (And bear in mind that I'm the cynical sort who snorts every time I hear 'Imagine'.)

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Those videos sunk in deep. I've posted them so that more people can see them. You're a gem.

Lawrence Welk can be forgiven anything seeing as he was the inspiration for Stan Freberg's "Wunnerful, Wunnerful!"

And I was under the impression that Spike Jones was working the Eurovision Song Contest.
