Coming Soon: A Post!

Inspired by my friend Diane at Bibliophile By the Sea, who's so gol' darn organized, I'm attempting to do a recap of my reading for 2011. (Remember when I used to review and talk about books on this scholarly blog?) Well, I’m no longer the spring chicken I was a couple years ago, so it’s taking me much longer to do a post in itty-bitty pieces parts. Especially when my mind wanders away somewhere and I forget what I was doing. Or I suddenly nod off narco- leptic-like onto my keyboard.

Martha thinks I'm so cute when I wake up and there's a perfect impression of QWERTY spelled backward on my cheek: YTREWQ.

A recent photo of me taken by Martha

The point of all this nonsense is I'm working on a post, I really am, and I'll have it up (the post) within the next week. If you don't like book recaps, forget everything you just read. You may keep the photo, though, because I agree with Martha: I'm so damn cute.

Thanks to Stinkypaw for the graphic. It is neither a photograph nor was it taken by Martha.

Thanks, Diane, for noticing my choppers. [blush] Is there anything I should notice about you, except for your blog?

Yes please - book recaps are always welcome.  I'm reading a really scary one just now: The Devil's Feather by Minette Walters.  Loving it.
You should do something about that jaundice.

Why have I not read Walters? And why am I asking you? I love psycological
thrillers, so thanks for the tip.

You know, I wonder about the jaundice problem—I mean, I ate an orange a few months ago. [wink, wink]

Which no doubt will bring witty replies and double entrendre.  ;)  Gives me something to look forward to as vacation ends and work beckons on Monday.

Even your teases are worth reading, Dear Charlie.  I'm planning on posting something today, which will be interesting, since I haven't been able to focus my eyes for two days.  If I don't get the post done, just assume it would have been witty, charming and well worth reading.

And that shirt is a good color for you, Charlie!

I love reading recaps  (that's like the old tire re-treads, right?).  Speaking of caps----what's that nasty excrescence on your skull there?   I might have that looked at if I were you.  It could just be a spider, but I wouldn't take a chance.

Charlie Callahan said...

Thank you! Washed-out torn blue is my favorite color. It matches my eyes.

Charlie Callahan said...

I took your motherly advice (like I always do) and darn, it was a spider! According to the exterminator I saw, it was a harmless male tarantula. Thanks for caring.

Excrescence. Golly you're smart.

Why do I get the feeling that if I had a dozen beautiful dancing girls in the photo  you would still notice my monitor?

Charlie Callahan said...

Aren't you sweet, worrying about a sweater for my poor thin bones. Martha once read a magazine article titled something like, "10 ways to tell you're getting old." One of them was, "You always take a sweater 'just in case,' " No truer words were ever spoken.

I don't know, but you've chosen a lot of books to read by April 1st.

Unfortunately, it's back to the broom closet for you.

Double entrendre: I had no idea you speak Italian.

Charlie Callahan said...

I don't have to assume anything, Fay. Your posts are always witty, charming, and especially well worth reading.

And damn, I hope your eyes clear up very soon.

lisleman said...

strange but you can find more pics of beautiful dancing girls on the web than pics of old monitors.  Not that I'm complaining.  Just an observation.

Being fashion-challenged myself, I really shouldn't be saying anything, but I would suggest that perhaps a new wardrobe might be in order?  I mean, if even I notice the state of your clothes, you can bet you have gone far past the crazy cat lady look and are now approaching hobo chic.

Boy, this is rich! A zombie telling a normal person how to dress. I happen to be thrifty and, for the money I pay for my clothes at Walmart, I insist on getting the value out of them.

Ok, Dude.  Off your duff and start writing.  You know how bitchy I get when I don't have my regular dose of Charlie!  (And in case you forgot, it's allllll about me)

What you're saying is completely true. I know that everybody must say the same thing, but I just think that you put it in a way that everyone can understand. I'm sure you'll reach so many people with what you've got to say.
